  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is a group inbox in which I support people with questions relating to all things Microsoft. Things that come up day to day are questions with agreements as well as setting up the agreements for the account manager.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new things in this process as I have picked up on things relating to Microsoft as this is something which not many people would know and lots of training is provided to help teach you.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy the programme as there is lots of extra curricular things which are offered to us as well as lots of events which allow you to network and meet other apprentices in the programme who you may not meet in the day to day of the job. this helps you gain knowledge of what other do in their day to day.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The Softcat structure is very well organised and there is lots of information which is shared between people and there is never any moments where people do not know what is going on.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I think that having a dedicated apprentice manager helps a lot as this means you have a got to person as this allows you to always know who to go with the issues you may have and they will be able to keep you informed on things that you will be doing and what you should be doing you day or Apprentice work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider did have some rough parts when we first started with them which meant that there was some confusion in what work should be done and this did annoy some people but it was sorted very quickly and the support from softcat was good the whole time

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that the qualification does help in the job and does allow you to give some more information when sending emails to account managers.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many different things that softcat offer which something always happening and many different things being available to people when they start. since I started 5 months ago there has been go karting a trip to winter wonderland and a cricket match.

  • Yes

  • They offer loads of support in the role with lots of training to progress better in the job.

  • Be confident in the interview process as this is something which they want to see as well as people being themselves
