  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day-to-day role involves assisting with transactions and taking my own matters forward i.e. drafting legal documents and negotiation with the solicitor on the other side of the transaction.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Throughout my apprenticeship so far I have built up my confidence, particularly in public speaking. I have developed my communication skills especially when speaking on the phone. I have also developed professionalism from an early age.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the different types of work I receive on a day-to-day basis and the studying alongside helps to get a better grip of the law from the theoretical side, whilst working on the practical side of the law.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is constantly developing to cater for our needs as apprentices both in the work place and university. The programme allows us to practice and study different areas of the law.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is constant support on hand from several (if not all) people in the work place should we need it.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There are programmes in place in the university to support us should we need it.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The modules that we undertake at university quite often coincide with the work that we do and therefore helps us to understand the more technical side of the area of law we are practicing at that time.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are always either sporting activities, diversity and charity events or general social events to get involved in should we choose to do so.

  • Yes

  • Be confident about your abilities and honest in what you can and cannot do and most of all be open to challenging yourself, learning something new and developing professional skills.
