  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My overall role of a Senior is to make sure the shift runs smoothly and the wellbeing of my residents and staff is maintained to the highest standard. I make sure that there are enough staff for the day and make sure that the residents are receiving care throughout the day along with their medication following the company's policies and procedures. I make sure they are safeguarded from abuse from the staff, other residents and outside organisations.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the programme very much, it was hard work but relay worth the effort. It opens your eyes to how individuals can easily be abused within care and that some of it goes undetected which is so terrible to even think of.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My level 3 was going well until my advisor was change due to reasons out of my control and we was reassigned with a new advisor Sarah Grant, who was fantastic. Sarah introduce herself to me and she was so welcoming and reshoring me that everything will be okay. I was given enough study time for my units and she was very supportive. I was at that time a care assistant/medication administrator and now thanks to Sarah's help and my dedication I am now a senior care assistant for the company that I work for.

  • Sarah, my advisor was fantastic! I had all the help and support I needed to help me pass my level 3, from reshoring me and helping me on my weaknesses which was my presentation and the EPA session, as I was nervous and felt like I could not do it.
