  • My role day to day is to take care of vulnerable adults and help them with personal care needs and day to day activities they are no longer able to do independently but also to encourage independence.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My paragon skills tutor was Sarah she helped me to develop and improve in areas I had weaknesses. I also was given resources to teach me about aspects of my job I wasn’t as competent in.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I did enjoy the programme it was a constant reminder and teachings about my job which I love. My tutor made it very easy to learn and help me to progress within my programme.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It was very well organised I was given all the different recourses to be able to complete my course. I was also able to complete all my coursework Paper based when my computer stopped working, which made it very useful.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My tutor helped me mainly with my course as I found it quite easy. My employer could offer support if I asked.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received a lot of support when needed my tutor Sarah Grant was amazing and helped me all the way through my course. At times when I found personal life getting on top of catching up with work she would always motivate and help me where needed. I also was able to gain a maths qualification thanks to her teachings. I was supported with all my work when I needed it. I would have access to a tutor even if mine was on holiday, it was very useful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helped me feel more confident in my background knowledge & to become more aware of certain aspects and changes within legislations. The qualification has allowed me to become more understanding of conditions and illnesses that I was not certain on. It also outlined my strengths within my knowledge and experience.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Paragon skills helped me gain a qualification which to me is very personal. It has helped me within my job role but also in general life be aware of the health and social care I aim to progress into. The exams were well structured and I found my coursework easy enough to cope with. My tutor Sarah Grant was always more than helpful. I highly recommend this training provider.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Essex County Care?
  • To take Advantage of the courses and what you will gain from them. They are very useful.
