  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Helping the team with any admin areas that they require. Being told how to do the basics in surveying and the basics of the team but learning things such as measuring and site visits as you go along.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learnt a few new skills, some IT/Equipmetn skills but mainly measuring and site visit skills. Going out on your own, and learning the different basic areas of surveying to have some broad knowledge.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It is a little mundane. The university work is good, but unless you manage to be put into a team that suits you, you can find yourself not enjoying the work at all and this is just a lottery as to what team you get.

    5/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The university is course is very well structured and having one day a week to do that is a really nice way of being able to be on top of it most of the time. The organisation is a little haphazard within the company. High HR turnover rate.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A fair amount if you needed something you would have to raise it with the right person and keep chasing but eventually they will support you. Although you don't always feel wanted and support by teams, very much seen as bottom of the pile.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots of support they are always there to answer questions and help out when they can. They check in every 8-10 weeks to see how thigns are going and if you do need anything you can ring or email and get a speedy response.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Currently not much as the modules are not directly surveying/property related. However I think this is helping writing skills such as report writing etc in the assignments as these are things that you come across at work. It also helps with time management.

    7/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are a few sports teams although not accessible for everyone. Lots of social acitivities and networking events although being bottom of the pile you can quite often miss out on these but just learn to network more.

    6/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Cushman & Wakefield to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • There have been a few issues with things within the company such as competive pay and HR management turnover being so high that support is not always in place. There are companies that have a much better pathway and pay and seem much happier I would recommend looking around.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cushman & Wakefield?
  • Get some work experience.
