1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

i am a graphical resource for the team, producing the most visually/aesthetically pleasing plans, reports, templates, graphics, illustrations etc. I am also involved in large amounts of other work with numerical data handling and processing. I also use technical software to evaluate and assess projects and then use this to make necessary changes.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

yes i have both developed existing skills and new skills using new software and new techniques etc.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i really enjoy my apprenticeship, i get a vast range of work and am presented with opportunity that i cant imagine getting anywhere else. The team i am involved in couldn't be better, as i receive constant support and help. within the company there are also so many opportunities for me to take and look out for as i go on.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

the structure of my programme is great, the way i am so focused on my work allows me to complete everything i need to do and the way that my college blocks are so spaced apart provides me with this dedicated focus on work.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

i receive all the support i need and more

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

i receive some support. When i am in college i get most of the help i need, depending on the tutor active. i can sometimes struggle for the desired approach from the college to me as an under age apprentice.

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

most of the things i learn at college compliments some things i do at work, however it tends to work more the other way. meaning the work i do compliments my college learning more. things seem more gradual in college when learning.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

yes there are multiple opportunities for me to be social and involved with other different types of events, activities, and initiatives. i get presented with opportunities to do things like this quite frequently.

9a. Would you recommend Arup to a friend?

Yes

9b. Why?

There is nothing i can fault, with my team, my workload, my office space, my working environment, the opportunity and flexibility and arup as a whole.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Arup?

dont be nervous.. at all. Arupians are the most welcoming and engaging people to possibly be sat on the other side of the table. if you return the respect you are given in an interview and the whole application process then you will flow through with ease.
