  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis I prepare retirements illustrations to member who are approaching their retirement age or at their request. I do customer service by picking calls from member, IFAs or other institution. I check emails, I do the normal day to day tasks as normal pension administrator would do

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am really enjoying the programme, it has been a very interesting opportunity. However, due to my personal responsibilities and my performance at work I believe that the wage should be higher. But I apart from this I am really enjoying this opportunity. I enjoy to the extent of staying after 17:15 just to carry on working by my own choice

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is okay, but I understand as it is the first time that the Leeds office is training apprentices. There is room for improvement on certain aspects such as ensuring that the equipment is working prior arrival of the apprentices. Study wise the programmed is well organised, I have only done 1 exam but I felt very comfortable with the length of study given and the study material. I was also impressed with willingness of the team members to help the apprentices

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot of support. My fellow team mate are always available to help with any query that I may have. My employer provides support by making sure that I am happy not only with my working environment but also outside work. My employer also has a platform which allows the staff to enjoy a variety of benefits.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As all exams are produced indoors, my company provides support when working towards my qualifications. My experienced colleagues are very helpful. My training provider monitors my progress with the apprenticeship and in the company. Due to external factors I didn't have the opportunity to meet them personally. However I get more than enough support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Again, my company prepares all the exams for my qualifications. However, I feel very well. I realise that it is really worthy and effective. Once I started completing and passing my exams I felt that I became more useful to my team and company. I feel that I can help more, and know I can express my opinion based on what I know, which is amazing

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There plenty of activities such as playing football, training self-defence. From time to time the office organises a get to together, so we can have a good time to relax and to strength the bonds and relationships among others company members. We also have a bake competition which is very interesting
