Firstly We get briefed in the morning for the job ahead. Then we load are vehicles with the required tools and materials for the task ahead. We then arrive on site do our risk assessments and TM. We then carry out the work required which could be a footpath iron works or other similar jobs.
I have learnt a lot of new skills since being at Skanska. I’ve learned to become a better team worker and have better communication skills. I have also learned to use several pieces of plant and equipment through training at Skanska. I have gained several qualifications from my apprenticeship.
I enjoy my programme a lot, I feel I have always had full suport from my trainers who have guided me through the whole process. I also enjoy the working side of my apprenticeship which from this i have gained several new skills/ways of accomplishing tasks and also gained several new friends
All though there have been slight hiccups and mistakes I would say my programme was well organised allowing us to make the most of our apprenticeship and advance in are jobs. S k A N S K A A P P R E N T I C E S H I P
I revive a lot of support from my employer from my manager to the colleagues I work on the tools with. I was given a mentor who also offered me suport and guidance when ever it was required which I found really useful when struggling to get hold of my trainers.
I get a lot of support from my trainers, they always answer my calls, text and respond to any emails I send them with any help I may need S K A N S K A T R A I N I N G A C A D E M Y.
My training helps massively, not only does it allow me to complete my job properly with the correct, tools, and equipment it also teaches me the safety aspects and what to do if any problems do occur. Without the training I would of really of struggled to have a successful start at Skanska.
Yeah we do have extra events we have a football day a family bbq and lend a hand day where we help out local charity’s. For example this year we helped out a local place for disabled children by building footpaths and Ramps and much more which was I thouroughly enjoyed.
