1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Producing CAD drawings, Health and Safety Documents, Pre-Construction information, STATS searches, Reinforcement Drawings and Bar Schedules, Calculations.

I have learnt quite a lot of new skills which mainly entails using AutoCAD

My employers are very happy to help me when I am stuck

I am happy with the support I am receiving from my training provider

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

At the current stage in the course it is not helpful as i do not use Hydraulics at my work, however the modules to come (Structural Design) will be very helpful.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is occasionally evening events which help to fill my CPD requirement for the CIHT, which will help me to gain the Incorporated Engineer qualification.

Kier provide a good career path for young engineers which entails gaining new qualifications whilst learning on the job.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Kier Group?

If you are looking for a career in engineering but would also like to carry on gaining qualifications then the Kier Apprenticeship scheme is something worth looking into.
