  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I job up orders that are sent in by customers, I also package up the completed orders so they are ready to be sent off, I also clean the kitchen and hallways.

  • how to be more confident answering phones to customers and I have become more confident with the use of Microsoft word and excel, I have also learnt how to be part of a team.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy some aspects of my apprenticeship as some days are better than others, it is generally better if I have lots of jobs to do as it makes the day go by much more quickly, and the college course is good and very helpful.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the company I work for is half organised in what I'm doing once I start a job but otherwise the day to day job can change quite a bit which is exciting.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • my employer is quite responsive to talk to but isn't necessarily the person I would choose to go to within the business as I prefer talking to the other members of the business as I feel like there would be less judgement.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • my training provider is very helpful and responsive towards my qualification, HoW is a great college which makes sure that every student receives the best help possible and they also find the way most suited to what you do. they also make sure that youre confident in what you do.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe that the qualification I will receive at the end is helping towards my performance in my office role as it is teaching me new ways to do the things I already currently do, but it teaches me more new and improved methods.

  • there are no extra curricular activities currently but possibly in the future there may be team building activities available.

  • Yes

  • because the work is generally good and everyone is really friendly to work with and its nice working hours.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Downhurst Engineering?
  • don't stress yourself out over the interview as long as you be yourself and don't panic you will be fine.
