  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Day to day I recruit apprentices for LEVY and SME companies. I deal with the process from the initial one to one conversation with the client right up until the recruitment is complete. I post the job adverts, do the pre-screening, select the candidates that fit the criteria provided from the employer to send over to and be considered for a telephone interview/face to face interview. From there I would liaise between the employer and candiate to provide any feedback/next steps.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt about the process of recruitment, I had minimal knowledge in the recruitment sector when I first started in January 2019. Since then I have learnt in-depth all the policies and procedures from the support of my colleagues. I have gained confidence in regards to talking to clients about payments and specific qualifications an area I was a little bit grey on at the beginning.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy always gaining additional knowledge in the different units of my qualification. I enjoy the sessions that I have with my trainer she is always supportive and on the end of the phone when I need any additional help or support no matter how little the question/issue may be.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I have visits every 4 weeks from my trainer on-site at my place of work. My trainer books every next session with me at the end of a session. We always have an agenda of what we will cover each session before she attends site so if I need to complete anything in preparation for it it will be complete. I also get work to complete in between each visit which goes towards my evidence in my portfolio.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have had a lot of additional support with maths from both colleagues and my trainer as its a subject I've always found a little more challenging than other subjects and sitting my maths function skills exam was something i was quite worried about but i have been given time to revise whilst in the workplace to prepare me for this. My line manager also checks my online portfolio to make sure I am on track to completing my qualification.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My trainer is always at the end of the phone to answer any questions/queries I have regarding work that has been set or my qualification in general. Noreen has provided me with support with the online platforms used to upload all my evidence to keep track of my own personal progress & the site used to source all of my resources.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • All the policies and procedures that I deal with day to day have been provided by my training provider on the learning hub a site that is created by internal e-learner developers and instructional designers without this tool and resources to flick back onto when you need a little reminder I sometimes would find myself come stuck with more minor things that you don't always dive into day to day.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • As a company, we hold a yearly company conference its a great opportunity for all employees to get together and celebrate the success of both individuals and what we have achieved together over. We also discuss the business strategy of each individual department also a massive part of the day is Gemma our MD going through everything she has planned for us as a growing business in the upcoming year.
