I assist lawyers on various matters, both contentious and transactional. My role ranges from admin based tasks to legal work such as negotiations and corresponding directly with clients.
I have learnt an inordinate amount of new skills, and continue to learn and develop these each day. Mainly I have learnt more about communication styles, both written and oral, as well as increasing my confidence. Importantly, my legal knowledge is enhanced every day.
I really enjoy the programme. It is varied, challenging and rewarding.
The programme has recently been restructured so I now feel that the type of work we are able to do is more varied and challenging. We have a great support system and this helps to ensure we continue to get the most from the programme.
So much!
The support from our university could be better. The teaching is to a good standard however the admin and organization is not always communicated and it makes it hard to balance the study element sometimes.
It provides me with a good level of legal knowledge which is very helpful to my role.
Lots! My firm has lots of social events and activities going on; from sporting teams and clubs to music and arts. There is something for everyone!
Yes
It is a great place to work, with a friendly environment. People are welcoming and supportive and I really feel that I am in a good place to qualify and learn from some of the best in the industry.
Make sure that you do your research and be prepared to get involved in all areas of the firm, both work wise but also socially. We are a friendly and people focused firm and this is important to maintain.
