My role is multi skilled so I spend 2 days per week with a mechanical engineer and 2 days per week with an electrical engineer and the final day at college.
Yes. When I joined Skanska I knew nothing about the engineering industry. I now know how to change lamps, ballasts, ball valve diagphrams and many more
I enjoy the programme. I have learnt a lot in 10 months and look forward to learning more over the next 3 years
It is well structured but it would be better if for example, there was a piece of work I needed for evidence that they put me with anyone who is doing it rather than staying with the same 2 people who may not do that job for a while
I receive good support but could be better if I had regular 1 to 1’s about my progress and what type of jobs my portfolio still lacks so that it can be arranged that I spend time with people who are doing the maintenance on these
I receive good support from my college. I have regular progress meetings and in given support whenever needed
It gives me the knowledge behind how things at work function
Not really but the people I work with sometimes arrange nights out after work that involve everyone
Yes
I have felt very welcome ever since joining and I also enjoy the work that I do on a day to day basis
