  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • I got access to seminars such as commercial litigation presentations and a mock employment tribunal. I also had 2 supervisors throughout the course of the week and we sat in their practise area and did several tasks such as research and looking through contracts to get a feel for the job. We got a feel for having a 9-5 office job as a solicitor and got to see some of what is involved in the job.

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • We did some training for business exercises that often come up in interviews and we also went through our personal statements with our supervisors. Another thing we did was a mock employment tribunal which honed our skills such as coming up with ideas on the spot and some public speaking.

  • It was very well organised and there was a schedule for the week that we received so we knew what we were doing every day of the week. We also received resources in a welcome pack which all came in useful throughout the course of my week at Pinsent Masons.
