  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt skills in Project Management in general. Specifically, how to organise a team of officers to aid completion of work, how to scope and business analyse projects, assess risk management and impact, create and update efficient time schedules, cost benefit analysis and forecasting, and stakeholder engagement with members of staff higher than me.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy learning new things and the programme is allowing me to learn lots of new skills. I enjoy the challenge of the tasks that are given to me, and enjoy revising to pass the exams that are part of the course. The work is always interesting and thought provoking.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised. I am given a new task to learn about a new subject, I then complete exercises on that learning, and then apply it to my general work. I then record evidence of the application and submit it to my assessor. This is then marked and returned to me with suggestions where applicable.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer allows me 20% of my working time to be given to my learning and apprenticeship. I am free to take this as 1 day a week, or multiple hours throughout a week. My employer allows all of my apprenticeship hours to be done within work time, so it doesn't have any effect on my personal life.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My assessor meets with me regularly, at least once every 6 weeks. However, if I need more help, I have the option to have more regualr meetings. The provider also aids me with uploading assignments and evidence to their portal, as well as giving me feedback and suggestions on all of my work.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification is allowing me to correctly manage my projects in a way that I have never considered. This is allowing me to save time and money for my employer, and also gives me more time to work on other things. After reviewing my work with my manager, we have both agreed the qualification is improving my work.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • My Local Government employer provides excellent pension benefits, very flexible working policies and strategies. We are aiming to be a carbon neutral employer, as well as working towards being a paperless Council with environmental concerns. We also have beautiful office spaces as well as heritage buildings. There are lots of opportunities for learning and promotion.

  • Be honest. I firmly believe my employer is looking for not only the most knowledgeable, but someone with experience and the ability to adapt well to a changing employer. There are lots of benefits with the social club, but also gym memberships, car and bike allowance schemes, local area discount cards etc.
