  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Developed IT, communication and research skills, as well as having the opportunity to learn a lot about the everyday tasks of solicitors. It was a very valuable opportunity for anyone considering commercial law as a career, its value lies less in the skills developed, than in the insight gained into the work commercial firms and solicitors do.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It was very structured in the morning with an hour long presentation on a different aspect of commercial law. However, the rest of the day varied greatly, with some days and departments leaving me more to my own devices to work on a number of general tasks, and others giving me very specific tasks and deadlines. Each work experience student is mentored by a different trainee each day, so if there were any problems, there was always someone around to help.
