  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • My job role was part of the TAS team and this required me to help client's understand the value of their business. I worked with a specialist in the TAS field and he helped me understand more about the different aspects of TAS such as Restructuring. I was required to complete a case study about a chocolate business and this involved me comparing different routes the business should take and possible options.

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • I have learnt more about what the TAS part of EY is about and how they all work together to help a business become better the right deals they would want to invest in. I have been on a variety of training courses with the company and communications meeting to better understand the business too.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • I enjoyed the program a lot because it was a chance for me to learn new things and the people at the company were amazing and helpful. Everyone works well together and it is more of people helping each other and not all alone. The jobs at EY also seem interesting and at the same time not very stressful.

  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • The programme was well organised because as we had to complete work, we also had the opportuninty to complete a CMI qualification as well as work on our skills such as confidence. These were tested through presentations. I think compared to other companies, EY really looks after younger people in work experience roles and apprenticeships.

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • The employer helped me understand what was required of me and how the company wants to help me succeed within their business. My employer also made sure the tasks that were set were manageable and that i fully understood about what the companies' aims and targets where. I learnt about what different work would be on offer if i was to work there which was quite interesting.

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • I took an apprenticeship role after i had completed this work experience course and it helped me quite a lot in deciding that this was the right path for me to be on. I think it helped also in deciding that maybe some career routes may not be the right choice for me too.

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • I was not paid for this work experience however they did offer me longer work (but not full time or for a big period of time) which would have been paid work. I was informed that having the work experience or voluntary work is a great way of getting into the business but i was more than happy with the experience at my age.

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • I met a range of people within the business and they all helped me along the way and i developed a coulple of relationships with some staff members who i still speak to. On one occasion we went to play football and have a drink in the local pub afterwards and this was a nice way of networking.

  • 9a. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would definitely reccoment then to people because the atmosphere at the work place was friendly and it motivated you to complete your work but also have some fun. I learned a lot from my experience and i think it was good for me to look into getting work there because i had not chosen my career path yet.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • I would encourage them to be happy and really make use of their time by constantly learning from people around them. Also to be confident because I was not confident once I completed my phone interview but I ended up being successful and this made me want to be apart of this programme more.
