  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am partially in charge of a small team and have to organise what section people work on in the kitchens, drive thru and the tills. I am also in charge of allocating breaks and Insuring everyone gets a fair break and comes back at the right time. Overall it is busy

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a few things since my time starting a team leader role. This has included being able to manage time of myself and others accordingly as well as being fair to all members of my team and trying my best to keep everybody happy with working in the work place

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme and I like having a role that I enjoy. I’ll admit sometimes it can be a little bit difficult but at the end when we reach our targets it is rewarding.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is run well and I get taught a lot about what I need to know I think McDonald’s as a whole is really organised and they know exactly what to do in order to get a good set up and achieve what they set out to get.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I get a lot of support from my employer and they give me meetings on what is expected of me and what I need to do. I get any help if I ask for it and the managers are so keen to see me do well which makes me feel good

  • I get a lot of support from my training provider and they give me meetings on what is expected of me and what I need to do. I get any help if I ask for it and the managers are so keen to see me do well which makes me feel good

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my training provider provides me with useful tips on how to get more organised and what to focus on. I like the way I am able to contact them even over email and they usually respond quite fast giving me detailed replies and helping me perform better in my role

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We like to go out with eachother on weekends that we’re not working. Obviously not all of us that work on shift are able to make it but we like to go out so often that everyone gets a chance to be out with the work lot and enjoy themselves

  • 9a. Would you recommend McDonald's to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I never thought in a million years I would work for McDonald’s but honestly it is one of the best companies to work for. The food is amazing and to be honest they make a lot of money so they are able to invest in things that keep the staff happy!


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
  • I would suggest being an honest and friendly person and working hard. Prove to them you have what it takes to be self motivated and organised when it comes to leading a team. Even if you don’t feel comfortable leading a team everyone in the team plays a massive part
