  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am currently in a role where I need to maintain tools used by testers on the account and set up new users to be registered in those tools.

    9/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned how to use the interfaces of existing tools in the organisation as well as perform different functions on those tools.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme very much as I am supported by helpful and delightful people who all want to see me succeed.

    9/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is structured well, to an extent, as our qualifications and objectives have been mapped out and presented to us in a comprehensible and organised manner. Nothing has been made too difficult in the programme. That which could be improved would be the communication from our endpoint assessors.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive lots of support from the company and its senior employees.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As the company is our training provider, they do very well when planning and carrying out educational courses for us, be it in house or via external provider, and they always keep us well informed of how to reach our outcome.

    8/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It has helped me to become aware of testing policies and procedures so I could become aware of a few processes used by testing teams and projects across the account.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are several sporting events that take place after and outside of work for people to get involved in. The account also holds monthly get-togethers for people from different workstreams so we can share success stories and socialise with each other.

  • 9a. Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great place to learn and grow as an adult and as a professional. I've found that it is a place that has something for everyone and there is no shortage of learning new things.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
  • Be willing to put in the time and effort on keeping on top of your apprenticeship work and on-the-job work before it becomes too heavy-handed. You can always raise concerns to managers, though, as they are always there to listen.
