  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is to great customers in store and give them the best experience possible. I start my day by organising the shelf’s making sure everything is stocked up then keep them stocked throughout the day. I also assist customers with anything they need help with and serve them on the tills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have gotten better at talking to customers and dealing with their concerns as well as getting quicker at finding things around the store. The main skill I feel I have learnt is my customer facing skills when I am serving customers and talking to them polite to make sure their experience is pleasant

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme even thou I’ve never really liked any job I have had however this job is really fun and everyone I work with is nice and respectful. I also feel like it is an easy going job without any pressure and I can’t really go wrong

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is structured well I feel I get given a lot of time to do things and I feel like I learn a lot. I feel it could be done quicker and I could complete all my work in a few months if the work level was more intense

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support I get from my employer is good and I feel like I get enough support. My shifts are flexible and there is loads of holiday offered annually which means I can balance work and home life. I feel like the managers are well organised and know what they want from their staff

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • When working towards my qualifications I get given enough support with a lot of education based projects. I also get given good feedback and my results are given back pretty quickly. I am motivated and my college teacher notices this and makes me a priority if I ask for help

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification is really good for my job role as it shows me how to adapt to certain situations with customers and how to handle difficult situations. I have learnt how to diffuse arguments quickly and hassle free and I have learnt how to be patient with some of the customers

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We do not really have that many extra activities outside of the work place as we all work different patterns and don’t usually have the time to do anything outside of work. I feel like I am tired after long days and I don’t feel like doing much.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The managers are really polite and the staff are amazing to work with I feel that we are like a big family and we all get on well. I feel that it is a relaxed place to work without a lot of pressure and most of the customers that come in are friendly


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • Always smile! That is my first tip! The managers look for people who are happy and polite and always there to help a customer and go the extra mile. I would suggest to look at ways online to writing a good cv and include a photo of yourself pinned to the top of your cv looking happy
