I do Many things from going into meetings to taking notes to be typed up to sending out business letters and emails i cover reception which includes answering the phone and greeting clients i also file away important documents take coffee orders ring people up and introduce the company i also order in samples if needed. theres so much to list
I have been able to get my ICT and maths up to a higher grade iv learned tips and tricks for excel and how to format documents so when i print things i can have them as labels if i wish. i have learned how to make a brilliant coffee too.
I enjoyed my programme because i really felt like part of a workplace family i actually want to get up and go to work each morning. iv enjoyed learning new things by shadowing people and that i get a certificate at the end and i have been offered a full time role too.
very well. i get set things by my tutor then my work colleges help me to complete them if its a task that involves them to. once a month my college assessor will come into Hackwood and we will go over all my college work this could be having a discussion recorded to looking at notes.
lots if i need it. any sort of problem and my employer are more than happy to help me whether it be im stuck with something or are wanting to learn something new. they are always willing to listen and help me with whatever i need help with. they are extremely supportive.
the college helped me a lot by setting me up on websites which would monitoer my progress and set me tasks to improve what i needed to to be able to pass the exams. they also found me old test papers to practice on so i could send them back and have them marked.
it has helped me because i feel more confident talking on emails or in person on the phone etc. it has also helped me do better in all the tasks i undertake so much that they have offered me a permanent position at Hackwood homes as a receptionist starting august
at work we get invited to a lot of charity events which we all go to to represent the company. we also sometimes as girls go out to the cinema or out for dinner and the boys go and watch the footy or go and watch the rugby or play golf.
Yes
if anyone wanted to get a business apprenticeship i would recommend hackwood in a heartbeat the staff are amazing the office is beautiful there so much to learn and you get to go to building sites and walk around half finished houses while they are being built. as well as getting a proper salary.
just be yourself. when applying for any job or an apprenticeship always put a cover letter in there as it makes you stand out from the rest of the people applying. don't be afraid if your worried about not knowing things they are there to help you if you need it.
