  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • I learned how to use a cash register and I stacked shelves and everyone was so nice to me! Everyone was asking me how I was doing. I mainly stacked shelves and occasionally worked at the till. I learned how to do that but it took time because it was very complicated.

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • I used the cash register and learned how to pay cashback. I also volunteered on packing people’s bags and putting food in their bags. I liked it and enjoyed helping people out and giving them a hand. I loved working at Aldi because it really pushed me and i know how to do business now and it really helped me.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • It was great. Learning new skills and everyone was so nice to me and showed me how to do everything. I would recommend working there because they show you different skills and different business ways and their marketing plan. A lot of effort and time needed but it’s worth it making everyone happy!

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • My pay was good. It was good for a work experiencer. If i was older and would work there full time or even a few shifts a week, i would love more money because you do a lot and i don’t think they pay you as much as they should.

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • I didn’t do much that week because it was a short period of time, but there were opportunities of meeting people and sharing some talk with them. That was definitely the highlight of my time there. If you like that, then you get more conversation out of people. I like that.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • If you like business then do it. If you like marketing, then do it. If you like meeting new people and what you talk about then it’s DEFINITELY for you. It gets boring if you have nothing to do, but you won’t get bored if there’s a lot to do.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • Only do it if you’re in it for a while. It’s good, fun at times, and have lots to do. It’s good and well paid if you’re in it for the good of it. I loved my time there and would do it again in a heart beat.
