My days include taking deliveries, organising the shop floor and ensuring customers are happy and can find items they are looking for by assisting them. I also get to serve customers on the tills and manage the money. Also I have to make sure the shop stays clean and safe
I’ve developed a good understanding on how the shop runs and how the company values its customers. This has developed my customer service skills and problem solving skills when a customer isn’t pleased with something. I have also learnt how to count money accurately and quickly when working under pressure
My program is quite enjoyable, I like how I get to work on my own initiative and have the odd challenge through out the day I also enjoy getting better at my customer service skills and the sense of achievement when I sign off bits of work. Overalll I enjoy my program.
My program is run well And my company are good at organising my shifts, they fit well with my lifestyle and my work and home time is very equally spread making sure I don’t have any stress or too much work on at a time. I also get plenty of rest
The employer give me a lot of support and holiday time where I can have time out of work. I also like the flexibility I get with being able to change shifts with other team members so that I can get days off on days that I sometimes need off
If I am honest My training provider are not the best but they are also not the worst I get a good amount time set in order to complete my log books and I also get support if I need it just by contacting someone by email or telephone and they usually respond quickly
My qualification I am working towards makes my job easier as I feel I communicate better with customers and have a better understanding on how to do my role this gives me more confidence and makes me more relaxed as and when I am doing my job. I also feel more organised
There are not many extra activities although as a suggestion I feel there could be a club of some sort either football or cricket or even netball or something that involves everyone but also keeps us active as we sit down on the tills for quite a lot of time
Yes
The pay is really good and I feel like the management team are really understanding and helpful. They understand we have life’s outside of work and try their best to manage the rotas to fit with our life’s. We also have a good amount of time to get jobs done and are under no pressure
As the company are a store they trust you with a lot so it is always important to be honest and loyal. Honestly is important as the store need to trust you and as well as this you need to be professional. You need to be professional because you’re dealing with customers
