  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I help organise the store and help customers when they are looking for something. Throughout the day I make sure the store is kept tidy and safe as well as organising stock and taking deliveries. I also serve customers and handle money at the tills but my main role is giving good customer service

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have got better at dealing with money and counting money quickly. I have also got better at dealing with customers and helping unhappy customers. It’s always a pleasure talking to people and putting a smile on their face as well as that I’ve got better at time keeping

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my program a lot and I find it productive it can some times be a little tedious but mostly good. My manager appreciates my hard work and my efforts are recognised which makes me enjoy my job role and programmes a bit more, I also find the program exciting

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured well for what it Is worth, I have become very capable of doing my job role and have learned a lot since I started. The whole programme could be shorter in my opinion as I feel there’s not loads I need to go over for the role

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support I receive from my employer is excellent. They are really a great company to work for. They are literally amazing and probably the best company I have ever worked for. My managers are understanding and help me when it comes to picking my timetable for the week and it’s so good

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Working towards my qualification I have a training provider who offer enough support to help me. Mostly my work place although mostly my work place help me and teach my the role for my job. I get told what dates I need to be where we’ll in advance which is good

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualifications aren’t really needed with my job role if i am honest I feel like I could do this job without having specific qualifications however they do help me when dealing with difficult customers that can have a bit of an attitude. I know how to talk properly to people

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • As the shift patterns always vary and everyone works by starting and finishing and different times and working or different days it is difficult to plan social events although I am in the process of organising a 5 a side team which I would find a good hobby and a laugh

  • 9a. Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Outstanding company to work for with greats rates of pay right from the get go. The managers are good and the job is fairly easy. I understand everything and I like having a easy life from stock checking. To dealing with customers and keeping the shop safe for everybody who comes in


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • I would give a good bit of advise of always being friendly and sensible. It’s important to smile when you come into your interview as this is the first impression you are giving people. My cv was well written and I was friendly and outgoing in my interview and the company liked this
