  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day to day involved a range of tasks that need to be done in order to service customers cars. This includes changing brakes, the pads and discs, changing filters and oil as well as light bulbs and small things that need servicing on a car, it is busy most days

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned loads of new skills such as how to torque bolts and change various filters. I have also gained experience working at a high tempo and under pressure making me work well with tight deadlines. I have also developed my hand tool skills and no what to do when things don’t always go to plan

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Even though my programme is a bit hectic and can be busy a lot of the time I do enjoy it because it’s hands on and a lot of the programme is practical and hands on work. I like having to challenge myself and I enjoy being productive every day

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme could be better organised with some reviews and meetings being a little bit last minute but I think that’s down to the nature of my job role being busy and there being such a demand for work. However I am up to date with work so it is structured enough

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I mainly get support from the team I work with but mainly the buddy I’m partnered up with. He has showed me the ropes and teaches me a lot whilst having a bit of a laugh. It’s quite good having one person that sees most the work I do

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I rarely get much support from my training provider but that is mainly because my company offer me a lot of the support I need and I don’t feel I need to contact them for help, although I do know where they are and how to contact them which is useful

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that most of the stuff that helps me perform better in my role is what I learn in the work place. My training provider just help me to gain the qualifications I need in order to be compotent, however most of the stuff I need to know I learn at work

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are few and many activities to get involved in depending how much effort you make with other members of staff. We usually get together and play 5 a side but this is because it is organised between ourselves. We also occasionally go to the pub or out for a drink together

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend because the company speaks for its self with the cars they sell being at the top of the market for yeArs. I feel like it is fun and a good place to work that has a promising future for the long run. The new cars are amazing and fun to work on


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • If you want to work at bmw you need to be committed to your work and expect to work overtime some days. Always be punctual and polite and always help others out when you can. Start with a good cv and be confident that the job is for you in your interview
