  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • An overview of my job on a day to day would include a morning of inspecting any faults on the trains. Then fixing them if I could or and the parts were in stock. I’d be working with a technician and usually have breaks about 3 times a day.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I’m always gaining new skills working at my place as there’s always so much to do. I feel like I’ve learnt how to use various tools since starting my job role and I’ve gained good skills in visually inspecting components and checking they’re ok. I’d say my skills still have room for improvement

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I find my programme quite enjoyable. It’s pretty simple and not really too difficult gaining my qualifications whilst at work. I earn money and I’m doing well. I feel like it could be a bit better as sometimes work is just way too busy with tasks but if you don’t mind it’s fine

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualifications are specific and built relevant to my job so it’s always useful and giving me a better understanding on the job. I feel that I’ve learnt about useful things and having an understanding how things function helps me look for what could go wrong if that makes sense
