Delivery, Support and Operations Apprentice Review

My role involves rotating into different sections of the business, working with teams to build a knowledge on their day to day tasks. Currently I am in PCR, which stands for private circuit repair where I find faults with circuits between BT and customers. I then send customer updates.

I have developed my skills in teambuilding, the apprenticeship involves a lot of team building exercises with other apprentices. I have also gained new confidence skills, from working with teams and building working relationships with colleagues. I have also gained customer service skills through talking to customers to the business.

The program Is very enjoyable at times, there is a lot of work to do and activities that I am participate in. There are activities such as sports day which is really fun and involves a lot of social interaction. Sometimes the work can be very slow but this depends how much there is to do.

The organisation and the structure of this programme is very organised, we always know what rotation we need to go in, as well as an organised structure of work. The uni is not very organised at all, as we barely get told any information which is dull and very annoying.

I receive a lot of support from my employer, there is always a lot of support available. My manager is always making sure the support we receive is up to scratch, and we get one to ones on a monthly basis for updates on everything we do, and progress we make.

We get a study day each week after uni, where we are able to study towards our degree. That's about it really, we aren't allowed to study at our desks in the work days which is fair enough. there is always people in above years to help us if need so.

I feel like it hasn't helped me at all as of yet, this may be helpful in the future like things like subnetting but I have not used this as of yet. I feel likealot of it is stuff that we will never ever use but that's uni I suppose.

There are a lot of social activities that I can get involved with, like sports day and other activities like a yearly apprentice social activity. There are some things I can get involved with like school events where I talk to students about the what BT is and what we do.

BT is a massive company with a lot of sectors of the business, there is always things to look forward to. The pay is very good and the opportunity to go on shift and earn more money. The work is very challenging at times but that is the fun of it.

I would make sure that you're prepared enough, by researching about the company and it's values. You will need to ensure that you have all areas of the interview covered, ensuring that you got everything you need. I had work experience at BT and that helped me get in.
