  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a software development apprentice involves me using different programming languages and framework are such as Java, #C, Selenium, etc to provide solutions for whatever client I am working with at the moment.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I came into the company with no experience but now I have successfully learnt multiple programming languages and frameworks. It has also further developed my soft skills such as public speaking, my confidence and my communication skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the program to a large extent as Accenture has so much support given to the apprentices plus we have a variety of social events that it really helps balance my work and life. All in all, I think the apprenticeship program in Accenture is extremely enjoyable.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel like the apprenticeship program in general is very structured by Accenture however, the training provider that Level 3s are currently using is quite disorganised which somewhat makes the studying side of the apprenticeship very stressful.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We receive a lot of support from Accenture as apprentices. When we join the company, we get buddies who are more experienced apprentices; a career counsellor who regularly makes sure our goals are being achieved; and a HR people advisor specific to each person.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We have a Skills Coach who makes sure that we are on track with classwork and we have block weeks for training every 1-2 months.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I am still yet to apply any skills from my training provider in my projects so I’m not sure that for me they have helped me perform better.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are a variety of extra curricular activities to get involved in such as the AACN (African and Caribbean Network), sports teams that meet up regularly such as football, hockey, rugby, etc and every week I get new updates on professional networking events (and even trainings) going on.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Accenture to a friend because it’s a great company to work in, especially as an apprentice as you are getting the experience, a degree AND you’re getting paid for all of this which is fantastic. Plus the support system set to make you comfortable is great.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • I would advise them to make sure that they are actually passionate about technology (whether this is reading up on the latest tech articles, listening to podcasts, experimenting with programming at home, etc) because the apprenticeship is extremely tech focused so if that isn’t something you’re sure you will enjoy, while there is a lot of room and flexibility to move into something else at Accenture, I would still encourage them to make sure it’s something they like.
