  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my day to day role I am incharge of looking after the production staff and providing support when a problem arrises. I also deal with NCR`s and any other changes to processes. I update electrical instructions for the production staff to follow, this also do this for the production staff in Singapore.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt new skills by being able to provide production staff with technical information and support. I have been taught how to read engineering drawing and make changes to them. I have learnt new processes and how to inforce them into our production line. I have also learnt how to become more of a leader.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy the most part of my role, especially the opertunites that can come and the addition courses I have partaken in. Like ELA team leadership level 2 qualification. I also enjoyed a BSI internal audit training course that span over 3 days. And I enjoy the people I work with.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the programme from the college side of things is pretty poor because there is very little structure, organising and very little teaching. ASM however structure for me to learn has been a fast progression but in a good way so that I am taking on more responsibility.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • From my employer I recieve as much support as i feel necessary and I think if I asked for any more support of help I would definately recieve it from lots of people in different teams and departments. In my team everyone is very supportive and helpful when I have asked or needed the help/support.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • From my training provider (Weymouth College) there is very little support from some of the members of staff but from the assessor that comes to see me in my working environment is very helpful and supportive. He always provides help when needed and guides me in the correct way to the path I am trying to get to.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my qaulification through weymouth college helps pretty well in some aspects of my job, like reading engineering drawings and being able to provide authographical drawings. Using computer aided design will help in my job in the future and the secondary machine class will help me to understand how are parts are made.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • The are lots of social activities and events that ASM assembly systems put on and hold. They hold a summer party every year that is really good. A christmas part is held every year, one for kids to go along to and one for mainly adults. The also hold things like football, badminton and so on.

  • 9a. Would you recommend ASM Assembly Systems to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend ASM assembly systems to a friend because it is a really good environment to work in and has really good facillities compared to anywhere else I have work for example the canteen. Also the social events are a big part of why I would recommend to a friend.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to ASM Assembly Systems?
  • The tips or advice I would give to others applying to work at ASM assembly systems is to work hard, be friendly, be honest especially if you dont understand how to do something or dont know some information because people here wont jugde you, they will help you for being honest.
