  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed great customer service skills during my time at Santander, and can build great rapport with customers. In terms of new skills developed I would say that I have been successful in managing my schedule and arriving on time as well as being a great team player. These are the skills I have learnt and developed.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the work we have to do, assessing how to better deal with each individual customer, however the role can easily become boring. Nevertheless, it is very rewarding helping customers manage their money and assisting them if they have a very complex query that I can help them with.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I believe it is well structured as everything is scheduled and you know exactly where you are meant to be and when. it is also organised in the sense that all the work is documented and you know exactly what work is completed and what is missing - then getting slots to complete it.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots of support, many opportunities for development. These are given out according to business requirements, but apprentices are prioritised because of the scale of the amount of work we have to do in comparison to other colleagues which is not very much apart from the basic training throughout the year,

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots of support from BPP, they keep track of progress and have a coach to ensure you don't fall behind. They have old work to take inspiration from as well as to set the standard for work we do and submit so our coach for approval. they also settle you in well when you arrive with good activities.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It allows us to focus on the basics and grow with the more difficult tasks and as things get easier this leads to a more rounded experience. This allows us to become very knowledgeable in the areas that we are supposed to service and then gradually take on more work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is pay day Friday in the Giro (over 18's) as well as weekly football tournaments in goals. They also have occasional team building activities during training and have days out with the team. • 9a. Would you recommend Santander to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a good place to work with good opportunities to grow and develop in a career. there are several departments which you can transfer to after your apprenticeship. These are advertised internally so you have a better chance of getting a job as an internal candidate over a external one

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Santander?
  • So long as you are professional and are willing to learn you will go far. Santander has plenty of opportunities to show your skills and have opportunities for jobs in other departments that are not just on the phones. there is something for everyone at Santander and I would encourage everyone to apply
