I am currently working as an installation coordinator, this involves the planning and the installation overview of the company, we are the point of contact for any site issues and need to proactively solve problems and communicate with BT site managers and our team. My next rotation will take me onto Account management
I have developed problem-solving skills, communication skills, and confidence. I have also developed by planning skills due to attending events and needing to organize transport and other logistics. I have also developed my excel skills due to using a variety of spreadsheets on a daily basis as well as other Microsoft products
I do enjoy the program as there is a lot of flexibility for me to choose which departments I want to work in and which Skills I want to develop, In addition to this I work in a very supportive team who are always on call to help me out
My course is not very well structured but this does not matter a lot as this has given me the freedom and confidence to organize my own rotations within my department and follow my own path. There was a very structured inducted but after this the level of external support decreases
I receive a lot of support from my direct line manager as well as the rest of my department , there is a very supportive network in which I can ask questions and develop my ideas. The HR team play little role in my course and I do wish there were more employee events
Not enough , I do feel as if there could be more drop-in sessions and bookable one two ones to go over some of the content that is taught in university as there may be some confusion
Not at all really , I do not feel as the degree is relevant to what I do in a work situation and I owe my success to my managers and work colleagues
there are Not many , there is the occasional drinks but this is very rare as the team travels far to get into the office and has other commitments
Yes
BT is a Good company to work for with lots of space to progress and very versatile roles and departments. The team that I work with is very supportive and Bt has a great global reputation which can help your future job search if you choose to leave the company
Be confident with what you say and know what you want when you apply, during the application process and during the apprenticeship, Communicate these goals with others and prove that you can do the tasks given and that you will be able to progress to where you want to be.
