  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am currently working on a Degree Apprentice at Hewlett Packard Enterprise while performing a role as a Technical Consultant. On a day to day basis, I am involved in the various internal and external project that deals with the delivery of HPE's Data Center core. I work towards achieving our client's demands on a daily basis. I undertake various training programs and I've shadowed a variety of work/projects. This has enabled me to become knowledgeable/familiar with the company's products.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • While working at HPE, I have improved my existing Communication skills by consistently listening, speaking, and writing to others within the organization and by interpreting what others are saying. I express my thought clearly when communicating with others. Also, I have learned how to work in various types of teams, as well as being able to work independently in tasks and projects.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am currently enjoying the program Hewlett Packard Enterprise has set out to a great extent. I have been shadowing a variety of projects and being given the opportunity to network. I have been able to manage my time effectively while studying my Degre and working at the same time. However, for some areas of improvement, our training providers could perhaps be more organized with the assignments/exams they set out, they should improve by communicating with us better.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Our induction was extremely organized and well structured. HPE provides great training packages and supports, however, our training providers should be more organized with the assignments/exams they set, they could improve by communicating with us better. We receive sufficient supports at work in order to achieve a majority of the tasks assigned.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive great support from my line manager, we constantly have weekly and monthly check-ups and reviews. However, I do not receive as much support from my Mentor as he is always busy at work and projects. The HR team offers good support with any inquiries I have in regard to work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We receive sufficient support from our skill coach who was assigned to us by our training provider. The tutor offers support when we are in our workshop, this is done in order to help us achieve the best when doing our assignment. we have some online resources that would help us when researching for our assignments. The online resources are extremely useful when working towards our qualifications.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • To a great extent, the qualification offered by the training providers is related to the role I perform at work. I have been able to exemplify the theoretical knowledge attained from the training provider and implemented a majority of the knowledge at my workplace. The theory attained from the training providers has pre-prepared me to perform at my best at work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise offers a variety of extra-curricular activities such as Charity events, social events, internal events, Health improvement-related events such as sports activities and many more! I have taken part in some of the events that were offered by the company and each event has enabled me to build a strong network with the teams, both inside/outside of work.

  • Yes

  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise is a great place to work, as it offers a pleasant working environment that builds your work ethics. Great Managers and awesome team, everyone are nice and helpful to each other. They offer a great opportunity for progressing and networking within your career. Also, Hewlett Packard Enterprise amazing benefit at work.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Hewlett Packard Enterprise?
  • My advice for those who are looking to apply for any role within HPE is to consider doing as much research about the company, the role they are looking to undertake and to become aware of the core values and culture of the company. I advise being calm and collected in the interview process, consider being yourself during the interview stages. Also, I would advise that all applicants should consider thinking about the question that is being asked before proceeding to give an answer to any questions at the interview stages. I advise looking elegant during the assessment day as you would be working in a corporate field.
