I overview the quality of build in Jaguar Land Rover's body shop, analysing daily data trends. I engage with a team of people to support the bodyshop delivery schedule and improve quality control processes.
Yes. During my time on the apprenticeship I learnt many new skills including welding, machining, pneumatics etc.. Since settling into my final area, I have learnt how to use many new computer software programs to aid my data analytics and develop both my practical and computer skills.
I thoroughly enjoy my job now my confidence has grown. The degree programme is hard work when combining full time work and a university degree but it is so fantastic to have the two combined. Theoretical knowledge gained at university can be applied straight into the role in the workplace.
The training is well structured, I think it is important for an apprentice to have a mentor to shadow and lean on for support when in the early stages of learning.
I think my team is supportive and are very fair.
I do think more could be done in terms of having time for university work at some point during the week, even half a day.
Some of the modules in the university programme will not be used in my job role, however I am yet to select modules for the last two years, which can be more specific to your job role.
I have been involved in a few company events, such as a dragons den design challenge at a local school, where over 200 students were involved. I had to provide support and guidance to help them with the challenge.
Yes
I have had a very good experience during my time here. I think they run a fantastic apprenticeship programme.
If you are lucky enough to get through to an assessment day, do your research on the type of questions you will be asked and the activities on the day. Usually there is information to help on the careers website.
