I work in the Information risk management team. I am helping to develop and carry out processes to support the creation and maintenance of an information asset register. I also work with the engagement to handle general queries from the wider business.
I have learned through training courses provided by both my employer and by my training provider. I have also learned how to use and manage new systems and how to help users with queries.
I enjoy my work and learning about Information Security. My team are good to work with and I have meaningful tasks to perform.
There was a long delay in the course getting started from the training provider's end once I had started at my job. Information about training was slow to come and contradictory. They now appear to have acknowledged the problems and taken the issue in hand. Training is not always that well targeted to the syllabus but this is in part due to the accreditor (BCS) providing limited information.
My employer is very supportive and responds well when issues are raised
Contact from the training provider was initially poor but has improved greatly and they now provide a good level of guidance. Hopefully this will last.
I am learning a lot, gaining a lot of experience and the opportunity to gain valuable qualifications thanks to my employer and so I feel that I am benefitting greatly from my apprenticeship.
The BBC has a large programme of activities for staff to get involved in.
