  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Being a inbound telesales adviser involves customers calling in with either the intention of buying a product or to enquire about a product for the future. The customer generally expresses what product they want early on in the call so you have to work with the information they give you and if needed ask additional questions to make sure the the item will meet all the customers needs. the main objective is to make sure the customer ends the with answers to all there questions and is happy overall.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes! I have learnt a lot of new skills like objection handling, building a rapport with customers and dealing, handling and adapting to customer behaviour. I have also worked on existing skills like how to control the phone call, understanding the customers needs and my general system navigation skills have also improved.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoyed the apprenticeship program because of the benefits you receive like £5 free meal card and also you are learning as well as gaining experience through working 5 days a week. The people in the work place are all great and they make sure everyone is happy before any changes are made. The program is great and works well!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program works well and is very well arranged as they allow time for you to go the the source off site complete the training modules set. they allow plenty of time for you to have lunch and get back to the workplace after your time at the source is over. they also give you free time at work to complete any unfinished modules you still need to complete.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • As a team we all received a lot of support from the employer, if there was a question we were unsure about the question would always be answered quickly and if they were unsure it would be found out. they make sure you understand the questions you have and are always more than happy to help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We received a lot of support from the people at the source they always tried to make it as enjoyable as possible they were extremely friendly, easily approachable and always had smiles on there face. they helped with questions we didn't understand and to ensure we understood, the answer was explained to us during training.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The training we have received throughout the qualification has definitely helped me improve in my role. I now have a greater understanding of the methods we use to sell and promote items. I also understand how what I say impacts the buyers outlook on the item and makes them think they no longer want the item they now need it.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are activities to get involved in for example yearly we have a charity football match which is managers VS colleagues. ticket sale price is 3 pounds and all the money raised goes to a chosen charity. We also do charity dress down days which is a pound for every person that comes in non-uniform and again all the money raised goes to a chosen charity.

  • Yes

  • The environment on the operational floor is booming, The Managers are great and fair, the facility in the building are brilliant, everyone is accepted for who you are and the only way to describe Dixon Carphone is were all like a family. Best place to work hands down. Would recommend to anyone!


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Dixons Carphone?
  • Go for it! Overall Dixons Carphone is a great place to work. The benifits you recieve are great like you get staff discount in Carphone Warehouse, Dixons travel and Currys PC World. There is also a friends & family card to share with your friends & family so they can enjoy this too!
