  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have now finished my programme but I did throughougly enjoy it and I learned a lot of skills throughout my 3 years. I had a few issues with training providers which made me fall a year behind on my college work but with lifetime I managed to catch back up and finish a few months before my deadline.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme was very well structured and I had a lot of support from my manager at work and also my trainer. My work and trainer worked together to sort out plans for my training so everything was well thought out and planned throughout my full process even when I didn’t have a training provider my work still pushed me through my training.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot of support from my employer throughout my apprenticeship. They helped me with my college work by providing any training which I needed to complete this and anything I was struggling with I could always approach my manager and they were always happy to help me if they could.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel like the qualification I’ve earned through my training provider has really helped me in my role at Aldi’s. My qualification has taught me a lot that working alone couldn’t. I feel like I have learned stuff in more depth by completing a qualification while working.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Unfortunately, no there isn’t any extra curricular activities which I can take part in through work. You do get the chance to visit head office and take part in training courses such as first aid and alcohol training but other than that there isn’t much activities to do

  • 9a. Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • They give you false pretences. I was told at the start I would get a managers position which I then found out towards the end that I wouldn’t be getting it and would be starting on the same salary as if I had just started, so people that had been there longer than me were on more money than me which I didn’t find fair.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • Working for Aldi is a good job and they pay you well but you do a lot to earn your money and things can be very pushed and stressful some days so make sure your prepared for this before applying as many people don’t realise how hard the job can be at times.
