  • Working bar, waitressing, keeping the hotel clean, tidy and safe for all guests and team members, cashing up, doing kitchen checks, social media admin, PoS display champion, upselling products and services, organising and planning events, team briefing

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It’s been insightful however a lot of work is involved. Especially when you’re working full time.

  • It’s very structured because not always organised. My course agenda has changed at least three times since I was a learner.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • When I’m doing my reviews at work I get 100% support but I’m terms of time off for studying and not having late nights not so much. Apart from my GM and team that I work with on site I haven’t heard anything from Greeneking about my training programme.

  • A great deal.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • When I’m unsure how to deal with a situation I just think back to what my trainer and taught me or what I’ve learned in my modules.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I work a lot on events and sales and social media as an extra-curricular activity

  • 9a. Would you recommend Greene King to a friend?
  • No


  • 9b. Why?
  • Under paid, over worked and little to no appreciation. Our wage budget is poor. We are all put under extreme pressure on foh. And receive absolutely no support from Greene King managers that aren’t on site.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
  • Be prepared that there is no work/home life balance. Learn to cope well under pressure. No matter how stressful your day, never let it show in front of your guests
