1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

In my current role my job role is to handle claims brought directly against TUI by customers, these typically involve a personal injury, illness or quality claims. It is then up to me to either defend this claim or attempt to settle it with the customer.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The most important skill I have learned in my time here is probably my negotiation skills. They have developed greatly since I have begun my apprenticeship, and I now feel much more confident when entering into negotiations.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I would say that I enjoy my apprenticeship scheme very much at the moment, the work I am given is both varied and interesting but also keeps me engaged on a daily basis. Furthermore, the university aspect of my apprenticeship scheme is also quite enjoyable, the topics we cover are engaging and also taught extremely well.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say the apprenticeship is structured quite well, we are always kept updated with any changes and always offered support.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I believe that I receive a great deal of support from my employers, from both our managers and mentors, as such we are given a great deal of support and it is always clear where we need to go to be given that support.

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

At uni our lecturers always offer support sessions and meetings if we ever need them to discuss any issues we might have with the course.

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The learning I do at uni does help greatly in the office, I find that I am applying the principles of contract law very often in my day to day work.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are sports teams where I work, for example there is a running team. Also there are some networking events, such training events our department had run last year, which meant we got a trip to Crete.

TUI provide a great deal of support for their employees and it is clear that they care about the development of every single employee that works there, and the people that work there are great and always helpful

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TUI UK & Ireland?

My advice would be to be confident in what you and don't know, and do not be afraid to ask if you don't know something, most people here will be happy to provide help if you need it
