  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role on a day to day basis is answering calls from customers who are wanting to shop at Currys Pc World and i assist them to place an order and make sure that the customer is happy by the end of the call and also to answer customers enquires.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • In my role i have learnt how to handle customers needs and how to be more confident with customer service and be able to get a call done with no complications . I have also have developed knowing when i need to have more sympathy for customers and knowing when i need help .

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The ways i enjoy my programme is the selling part having targets and goals and getting a little excited when getting a big order or getting extras added on .I also like having happy customers after the end of a call and knowing that the customers have received good quality products that ive reccomended.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well structured and very organised so being an apprentice allows us to get a degree along side of work and gives us time every week to do some coursework for our apprenticeship so that we finish it on time and also having managers and our training providers by our side along the way takes the pressure off .

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer if i need something there always there to answer questions and make sure im not facing any problems .If i did need anything as well they would make sure that the coursework is the right amount of work for each individual so that its not to over pressured .

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The amount of support we receive is quite alot as we get weekly visits from our training provider to see how were getting on with our courses asks us if we need any help and there always available to talk over the phone or email if were struggling with anything .

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • my qualification helps me to perform better in my role as in lets me understand the information behind the call and let me understand some of the terminology that i dont know or didn't know before and also lets me have more knowledge when transferring information to the customers.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there is some extra curricular activities we have a contact centre football team and there's always charity events and even days out here and there for a different feel for our job role ,we also have dress down days where we can participate in different activities throughout the day.

  • Yes

  • I would recommend Dixons Carphone to a friend as i believe it is a strong place to work as the people that work here are supporting and friendly and you have time to achieve a degree while still on the job and also all the staff and colleagues are so supporting and always there to help if i was to be struggling .


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Dixons Carphone?
  • The tips or advice i would give to someone that is wanting to apply for Dixons Carphone is that its a great place to start if you are wanting to get a degree and also have the opportunity to get a higher position and get better pay and also to have more experience behind you .
