  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role includes working on a rotation basis around the different security teams in Telford, varying from Security Assurance to Forensics and investigations. In my rotations I am set objectives that I work towards whilst I am in each team to gain as much experience as possible. I also complete an educational programme with QA studying Cyber Security Level 4 Technologists.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • During my time at Capgemini I have learnt a number of different skills including working very well with a team. I have learnt professional skills when talking with clients and peers in and amougst Capgemini. I have been on training courses externally and internally which has required me to learn about new topics.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I throughly enjoyed my programme so far at Capgemini, I have been welcomed into the company. There is a massive community with all of the apprentices and graduates.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • When I started Capgemini I attended an induction training week with lots of other graduates and apprentices. During this week we were taught all about the company and our personal brand. After this week we have had continuous support from our managers and the apprenticeship team. I have 2 different mentors from my security area which help me expand my understanding and knowledge.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receieve huge support from my manager, i have weekly catch ups to check on my progress and see if I need help with anything. I have contact details for HR if I were to need anything. I have a buddy and a couple of mentors if i were to need to speak to someone other than my manager. Support is everywhere in Capgemini.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • From QA I receieve support from my skills coach, we have catch ups every month and I have their contact details if I were to need any help in an emergency or for my coursework. I have training weeks which is based in a classroom and a tutor teaches us, they are willing to answer any questions I need.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps me to understand the basic security knowledge behind my role at Capgemini. It gives me knowledge to apply to my daily role by getting me to conduct labs and online learning which I can go back and look at. We have e-books which also helps with the theory side.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have got involved in company events like Women In Tech nights and career events at a number of different schools. I have voluntered for Apprenticeship shows to help promote the opportunities Capgemini offer like degree apprenticeships etc. I have also been involved in quiz nights/ bowling and meals with members of my security team.

  • Yes

  • Capgemini is a company who is willing to invest massive amounts of time to those who are passionate to learn and develop their career. They focus on the key value of fun, making sure everyone is enjoying their job and they are a very flexible company.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
  • Seek every opportunity that comes your way. Research about the companies values to mention in any interviews and assessment days. Be confident, apply all your past experience to the job you have applied for. The onboarding process may take some time but don't give up, be patient. Watch the clips from our current apprentices on the companies site to gain a better understanding of what to expect.
