Test Engineer Review

I predominantly produce automated scripts to speed up the process of manual testing. However I also produce custom software to assist with data production and validation. I also help with the maintenance / improvements of our automation frame work which holds all our automated tests and executes them daily for increased accuracy / speed with reporting failures

I have learnt many new skills since starting this program, From database management to industry standard programming techniques. I have also unix commands as well as batch. I have also learnt new tools such as selenium, cucumber, BDD and other more specialised languages/Tools. I have also developed my programming skills in C#, Java, SQL, Ruby, Python, Shell

I really enjoy the program. I have a passion for software development and this program gives me access to tools and resources to help develop my skills, They give me roles/projects that emphases software development as they know this is the aspect of my role that i enjoy the most. They always strive to assign projects that suit your skill set and most of all what you enjoy

The programme is structured well however can be slightly unorganised as some lectures we watch are 3 years old (from 2016) and we get told with little reminder that a QA or Tutorial is happening that night. However over all the lectures are high quality (thoughtful a little hard to sometimes). With a well planned structure to what courses are coming up and exam/course work dates

I have revived alot of support form my employer they assign me projects related to my uni work to help promote skill development and allow days off to catch up on any missed work. They are always happy to talk thought any topic you dont fully understand. They are very understanding and helpful when you have on-campus days and allow for extra time on projects to accommodate this

I received a reasonable amount of support form my training provider. They do Q&A Sessions for each module every 2 weeks. As well as the lectures email address which we can contains if any immediate issues come up. We also have several on-campus days which we can talk to our lecturers in person.

I feel like my qualification thought my training provider helps me perform my role better because it gives me information/knowledge of techniques/skills that i can directly apply in my work. For instance i got thought java web applications apart of my course. I then directly used this new skill to create some custom software.

Yes, their are many extra-curricular actives to get involved in. Such as curry nights, pool and table tennis games. As well as cricket, football and other activities. All of which greatly add to atmosphere of the office as well as helps to build stronger relationships with colleges. Anyone can create new activities and easily distribute them around which results in a huge array of activites to get involved with

It is a very good place to work, They encourage knowledge growth assist you with any issues you have and work closely with you to ensure you get the most out of your career. They provided dedicated people to help you with promotions, role changes and any issues you have through out your employment.

Do it, its a really good company to work for and one that really care about how you progress, They motivate you and find your projects that they think you will enjoy and thrive on. As long as you try hard you will advance and everyone is incredibly friendly and happy to help
