  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • It starts as a Store Assistant for a year and after being signed off, if appropriate, the next 2 years consists of Deputy Manager training such as handling the safe, taking to do with dates and sometimes doing orders on the odd occasion along side other basic tasks such as working stock and de-carding aisles (tidying them).

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my programme as everyone I work with pushes me to do better because they understand how much it means to me to do well in a place like Aldi so I'm thankful to have such a good group of people to work with

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say it is fairly well organised because every 4 weeks, my trainer will come in to do a review on how I've been getting on from the last time I've seen them and then when they are not here, it's all just learning first hand on the job itself which is good.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I recieve a lot of support from my training provider to do with the programme and I knew if a problem was to occur with any of the units, I could contact them either on email or simply by phoning them which I am thankful for.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification helps me perform better in my job role as there is many questions I have not heard of and reading up on this knowledge helps me pass on information to my other colleagues.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There isn't really any activities to take part in unless we do something with Teenage Cancer Trust which is the sponsored charity we do activities for. So for example, we do cycling events, hill climbs and other sorts of phsycial exercises to raise money. It's a very worthwhile cause.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • There is a good team working environment and no matter how difficult you may find a job to complete, all of your colleagues who have been there longer are more than happy to help you with any queries you may have. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a decent job.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • If you choose to go with Aldi for any reason, be yourself and keep your head down when work needs to be done as no one wants to be kept behind at the end of the night. It's very enjoyable once you come to terms with all the different jobs.
