  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role within Prudential is dealing with complaints before they go to complaint handlers. When complaints come in I log them on our different systems and then allocate them out to managers to then delegate to their team of complaint handlers to investigate and resolve. This is my base role however I take on different tasks around this day to day to help any of my colleagues with anything they need.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have built on my confidence while working here which has helped me massively in my day to day life. I have learned to present in front of a crowd which is something I'd never be able to do usually, and also to develop a presentation including charts, graphs and research. I also feel I have grown my communication skills through talking with my team and also emailing different people.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I definitely enjoy my programme and have made some amazing friends and met lovely people. The programme has been beneficial to me in my work experience, personal skills and also qualifications. I do not regret joining Prudential - in fact quite the opposite. I think this is one of the best things I could've done leaving school.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel it is a well thought out programme however a more set structure in terms of the workbooks we do each month etc would have been better from the start. As half way through we changed the order of the packs (which wasn't a hassle at all) however I feel this should have been set out from the start. But in no way does this reflect the quality of BPP or Prudential as it is impossible to have everything perfect.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support has been something I have never lacked. My coach supports me daily in my job role and helps me with anything I am stuck on. My manager is always catching up with me and finding ways to keep me busy and develop throughout this journey. My apprentice scheme manager is extremely hands on and never stops to ensure all apprentices are always working hard and getting opportunities to develop their own skills.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our BPP assessor is always at hand for any questions or concerns and always gives us a clear concise answer to our questions. Whenever a new work book is issued she always asks us to read it over and if we have any concerns to call her or email her to ensure we know what we're doing. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] has been nothing but helpful and any feedback we have given she has taken on board and changed to suit our needs which is amazing.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Although I can see why we do most the workbooks for the qualification, there are only some parts which I feel benefit me. There are a lot of questions asked which are either ones which don't really help with my job or ones that are very obvious so everyone would know it. However some of the workbooks have definitely benefited me (for example presenting).

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not very much, no. There is the odd thing which crops up but nothing regular to take part in or attend. Anything that we attend is either mandatory or is just a work related event. It would be good to have more social events or other fun things to keep everyone motivated.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Prudential to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Prudential has given me the start in my career which I can hopefully continue within the company - however if I do not get kept on they have also helped me build my skills and personal qualities to then be employed by someone else. Not only do they support your job role, they ensure you are ready for any other role you may take on.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Prudential?
  • Just be yourself with the interviews etc - as the teams here are all friendly and get on well so being yourself will shine through more than just qualifications. The company is a big one but is not scary at all - they will make sure you're trained and ready to go.
