1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

9/10

In my apprentice ship i am training to become a manager. I take the safe handling a large amount of money, i answer manager calls and i set up shifts for the day. This can be anything from setting up tills to deciding what part of the store each colleague is working in that day.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

10/10

During my apprenticeship i have gained a vast set of new skills such as communication, determination, confidence and improved my team working skills massively. Working in this environment has helped me to come out of my shell and enjoy meeting new people and pushing myself to achieve exactly what i set out to.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

10/10

I enjoy my programme a lot. The training courses are easy to understand and follow, i an given full training and support not only from other managers but store assistants and i was made to feel welcomed into the team from the very beginning. This programme has exceeded my expectations.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

10/10

My programme is very structured, i was given the correct training, i am given support if and when i need it from anyone in the team, i meet with my regional trainer once every month and receive a review of my performance once ever 12 weeks. My team is also very well structured within tasks they are assigned.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

10/10

My managers give me as much support as i need, i never feel afraid to ask questions or speak up if i don't understand something. I know if i need help with anything at all i can speak to my manager, but if not i know there are other areas of the company i can go to.

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

10/10

My training provider is outstanding when it comes to offering support with anything. I know if i need help understanding the units i can contact my trainer, as well as getting support with any issues i may have in the store that i dont feel comfortable speaking to my manager about.

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

10/10

My qualification makes me consider all aspects of my job role at all times instead of what i''m doing at that time. I always ensure that when i see a unit i haven't started in store yet or that i dont understand i speak to my manager in order to have that training from them.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

10/10

The company as a whole had a teenage cancer trust charity event throughout all of its stores across the UK, from things such as sponsored walks and cycles to bake sales and football games in order to raise money and awareness for the charity and to give the employees more information to share.

9a. Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?

Yes

9b. Why?

I love my job. It has given me the confidence and the drive to succeed and opened me up to a world of possibilities i didn't know was available to me. The team i work with is outstanding and makes my job that much more enjoyable. I enjoy going to work.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?

Depending on the store the application process time varies, but stick with it. It took me two months to get a job with aldi and i wouldnt change it for the world. The application itself relates a lot to what happens in store so i would make sure you read everything twice and make sure you answer all questions with the answer you think is correct.
