1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

7/10

My role in the first year consists of various different things. This includes: Selecting and being a LA ( Logistics Assistant). You will sign in using the new clock in device system( Smart time). Get a truck if needed for the shift. Carry out a pre use check. Go to the department that you will be working for.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

8/10

Start starting my apprenticeship at Aldi. I feel that I have gained loads of new skills. One example is my listening and speaking skills have defiantly improved in a more professional manner. This is useful for when I will progress onto year 2 and do my deputy shadowing as I will be more prepared.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

8/10

Since my first shift here at Aldi. I have really enjoyed my time. It gives lots of opportunities for progression. Especially when it comes to changing departments. Its not the same thing each month its something different and new. You get to meet new people and develop new friendships all the time.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

6/10

The training programme that Aldi have in structure here is good to a certain extent, however I feel that it could improve. This is because its split up into 3 years give or take but the first year is too unbalanced. I felt that sometimes in certain departments I was asking too much for stuff to do and had little response wherefore it should be clear what to do from the outset.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

7/10

I feel that Aldi do offer some good links and opportunities for support around the warehouse. They do a lot for people who might suffer with mental health and money problems. Also you can speak to your personal or direct leader if you may need the support to do so.

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/10

The training provider that we have in conjunction with are apprenticeship isn't the best. Its to inconsistent with the programme and doesn't really fit what we do day to day in the warehouse. In terms of work load too I feel that we do not get to much support.

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

3/10

As stated before with the training provider we have the work does not really relate too much to what we do In the warehouse. So with said there is no really link to the work load that the training provider sets for us so it cant be reciprocated in work.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

8/10

Aldi do a lot of things for employers outside of work. They have a bike to work scheme and much more. They also have their own app which you can download onto your phone. This is a great feature because you can see your pay slip early and updates on the company.

9a. Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?

Yes

9b. Why?

I would recommend Aldi as good company to work for overall because it has a lot of perks and bonuses. It has good strong core values and offers really completive pay. Also its a growing company so with this said its only going the get bigger and better in the long term.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?

For people that are thinking or who want to apply to work for Aldi do not hesitate. I would bare in mind that you have to be flexible and hardworking also passionate and committed. Also make sure if you get far into the process to learn about the history of the company .
