1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

10/10

Currently I am based in a large team called Test. Here I am testing and configuring the latest and greatest devices coming into our live network. I am gaining knowledge and learning vital new skills that are shaping me as a person and a team member. Here I am learning the foundations to my career.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

10/10

I have developed my communication skills. Being an apprentice I have been given many opportunities to present to other possible apprentice candidates to show the apprenticeship we our offering and how much of a good opportunity it is and has been personally for me. This has improved my confidence dramatically as well as my communication skills.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

10/10

I love this apprenticeship. To be earning while getting a full degree feels amazing. I Am very happy to be here instead of going to only university, which is what I believed myself to be going for before I got into here. I cant recommended this enough and I now cant see myself anywhere else.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

10/10

Its amazing. The structure to both the apprenticeship and the university course has been outstanding and proves to me this is somewhere where I can spend the rest of career. In our apprenticeship we have 6 month rotations between different job roles where we can learn different areas of the business. This has always been expertly put together for myself and have been able to go around the business already in my first year.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

10/10

Massive support. If I fall behind in my university course they will let me focus on getting it up to par. They really focus on University being the most important thing. As well as having the opportunity to have time off work if need be if any possible issues arise in my personal life.

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

10/10

They are a massive help. They will give me extra time to do the work if I need it. As well as also having other apprentices in the years above who are happy to go through any knowledge with me if I don't understand. There is no I in team here if you will and very one helps one another.

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

10/10

It gives me a greater understanding into networks and this helps me be more efficient in my day to day role. By applying the knowledge into my role it gives me a foundation into any task I undertake and allows me to apply myself more to the role and task at hand.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

10/10

Being an apprentice I have many opportunities to go out and volunteer within my local community. I have the chance to help out with shows, do school visits and help with internal events. There are also lots of social events set up for apprentices that allow us to get to know each other more.

9a. Would you recommend BT to a friend?

Yes

9b. Why?

I already have recommended many friends to apply here. Personally for me this has been amazing. I have truly loved every day here. Its been an incredible opportunity for me and I cant imagine it would be different for anyone else. Looking back on my opportunities before starting here I couldn't imagine picking something else.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?

Put the work in. Apply yourself to the role and research the right things to do and say in the interview. Push yourself out there and get yourself tips from people inside of BT. They would be happy to help you and would love to get you involved in the business.
