Technology apprentice Review

Currently I am at university doing a normal computer science degree. We have regular interaction with PwC who provide talks, webinars and social events. My role is a technology apprentice. In the summer we will do a week's training then join the firm in one of their tech teams for a few months.

Yes because it is a degree apprenticeship I have learnt many valuable skills at university. This includes things such as programming skills, knowledge of computing systems, project management and much more. In the summer when we work there I look forward to applying what I have learnt and hopefully gain new progressional skills.

10/10. I really enjoy the programme I am on. From university to the office it is all exciting. Hopefully I can get more details after my first work placement in the summer. But from what I've done so far it has been very enjoyable to say the least.

My programme is very well structured and organised. At the moment I am in my first year of university. But PwC arrange regular webinars, meetings and social activities with us. There is a clear structure to the programme which we are all clear about. We work 2 summer placements and a year in industry.

We receive as much support as we need. My employer is very friendly and approachable, as are most of the staff at PwC. They aren't on top of us, they give us independence however they always tell us that we can contact them or ask them anything if we ever need to.

I receive a good amount of support from my training provider while working towards my qualification. I have weekly meetings with my tutor who helps out if I am having and general problems or concerns. A lot of staff provide extra sessions where we can go to get help if we need.

My qualification will definitely help me perform better in my role. I am receiving top quality education at my university and learning very relevant skills which I can use when I am working at PwC. There are some aspects of the degree which won't be as relevant to my role at PwC but on the whole it helps.

I'm not entirely sure as I'm currently not working there, I will find out in the summer. However, from what I've heard from employees there they seem to go to quite a few events together. On Fridays they have quizzes in the office. I'm sure there are many more too.

PwC just seems like a really enjoyable place to work. They come off as a very friendly and trendy place to work and are very welcoming. All the people I know who work at PwC say they love it. Also they provide employees with so many amazing benefits and opportunities.

Definitely go for it. PwC is a great place to work and there are so many great people there. Be yourself and be confident is really important. A lot of work will involve working with clients so it's important you can be sociable and have good communication and organizational skills.
