I work in the compliance team and sign up new apprentices onto their programme. I ensure we meet all of the funding rules provided by the ESFA and that we have all necessary contracts/other documentation in place. I also help out with daily admin duties like booking travel, filing of certificates etc and photocopying, organising events like career fairs.
Yes I have definitely developed my accuracy skills and developed my e-mail and letter writing skills as I haven't had much experience in this before. I have also learned a lot about how things work in the office and gained a lot of important knowledge about our policies and the education system in the country
I think apprenticeships are an incredible opportunity for anyone, I get to learn so much and it keeps me so motivated to keep learning as I have a stable job and know that everything that I put into it will be rewarded to me at the end, I will gain a qualification and get a salary
Very well - I see my assessor on a regular basis and can always get in touch via e-mail/phone if I need extra help. Using OneFile helps me monitor my progress with charts and I can download the criteria sheet and tick things off independently as I upload evidence of my work
My employer is very supportive, they always encourage me to attend training sessions and everyone in the office is very helpful. They always check in on me to see if I need any help going through our robust processes. They also let me work independently and trust me to do my job well
Plenty of support to make sure I tick off all the criteria and I progress in time to reach my assessment deadline feeling fully prepared. As mentioned before, OneFile is very helpful to make sure I stay on track and my manager always tries to give me work that will tick off my apprenticeship criteria also.
Not only does it motivate me to work harder and put more learning and work into my tasks but it also makes me feel really prepared for future job roles. I like that the new apprenticeship standard lets you gain not only skills and knowledge but also behaviours that make you a very good employee with a strong work ethic
There are plenty of professional networking events that my manager always encourages me to attend and even attends with me. It is great to learn more about our company as it is a huge business with lots of different doctorates so I find these events very helpful. We also do career fairs
Yes
It is a great company to work in and train in. The assessors build a strong rapport with you so you feel like although they may have many learners they still know you uniquely and know all your educational needs and how to meet them - personalising learning plan to match your needs
Find out more about the company and everything that they do - there are so many different roles that you can apply for and so many different apprenticeships that you can definitely find something that is most suitable for you. Just have to look and do not be afraid to try new things!
