  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt and developed skills across the board in a menagerie of different areas. Prior knowledge such as electronics and general topics within the subject of Physics were built upon and developed through the university course. Alongside this more physical, hands on skills were developed on placement in the form of things like soldering.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme was extremely enjoyable. A strong sense of community was developed throughout the time spent on the course due to proximity and time spent almost living with other members of the scheme while studying at the university. The range and variety of the course also added to the level of enjoyment

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the programme on the side of the university was not perfectly streamlined. there were many issues that came up with timing and working around placement and coursework and exam deadlines. on the half of the BBC however the organisation was very good with managers always having time to aid you.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

The relationship between employee and the support team is very strong and interconnected. The employer provides help with any issues that you might face, emotional, financial or any other general support requirements.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider was far less useful in terms of support. The university was not readily available and took a fair amount of time to get back to you on key issues. They were also very unorganised and lacked coherence. However the actual content of the course and the ability to learn was not hindered by this greatly.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification helps me perform my role very well due to the hands of nature of the workplace placements that ran throughout the course. The placements gave a great example and provided real life experience of the role and what is expected of the employee. It allowed for many different avenues of development.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Unfortunately due to the block release nature of university attendance the possibility of joining any university clubs or such. However the employer provides many networking events, trips to conferences, opportunities for personal development and social get togethers and staff parties. The amount of extra curricular activities ended up being more than sufficient despite the limitations in respect to university
