  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, i have learnt new things in my role and progressed well in the company but im not sure if what i have learnt on the course directly apply to my role but help me have a good understanding of it.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It is hard to balance full time work and a full time degree. and i dont feel i get much support and feel like i cant take my study leave.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • As i was one of the first years to go through the programme, it wasnt very structured or organised as the it was a learning curve for the university, i feel as though we have been guniea pigs. but the university has improved with time. To begin with there was little to no communication between Capgemini and the university. There is no structure in place at all in the workplace, nobody is briefed about the programme, you are left on your own.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • depends on the person, but not much as nobody really knows about what the programme involves and you are still expected to do and achieve as much as everybody else. the majority of the degree is done in my own time which is fine as it is what i signed up for but the disconnect between what support the univeristy expect we are recieving to what we are actually getting. but we do get study leave o that helps.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support from Aston is pretty good. there is always somebody to contact if needed and the provide good online training.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • i have learnt a few things which relate to my role but nothing that i have directly applied. It has helped me have more general appreciation for business and leadership though and made me reflect more about the kind of manager i want to be. However, balancing work and study probably leads to me perform worse in my role as i am often stressed and overworked.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • yes there are lots of extra-curricular activities. Capgemini is very good for that. and plenty of training and development opportunities. it is available if you want it.

    9/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Despite the stress of balancing work and study, and the lack of support, it is something capgemini are starting to look at. i think i was at a dissadvantage with it being such a new programme but i can see they are starting to put steps in place for improvements. Capgemini is a good place to work and the salary is good.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
  • be prepared to invest 20+ hours a week of your own time on top of your 40 hours a week work.
